The plan draws two large intertwined curves, like the infinity symbol, which create two wide, distinct courtyards. This layout allows boys and girls to be separated in the outdoor spaces, in line with the local educational and cultural setting, without losing the unity of the whole.
The façade follows the curves of the building and turns it into a piece in motion. Horizontal bands of colour create a lively rhythm that changes with the angle of the passer-by. Cantilevered slabs with flowing lines shade the lower floors and lighten the volume. Colour is an invitation to joy and curiosity, and helps pupils find their way.
The courtyards are places to meet, play and pause. At dusk, discreet lighting along the paths strengthens the reading of the curve and makes the outdoor spaces safe.
